White Post Alphabet House
This nursery has some incredible facilities – if you’re looking for fantastic childcare in a wonderful setting with access to the outdoors and nature, this is the place for you. An arrangement of converted barns provides large, light spaces for babies and children to spend their exciting days. The baby room has its own quiet, sleep area, and plenty of additional space for large equipment and messy activities with specifically baby trained staff. The three other age groups have rooms with the space and facilities to engage and stimulate children throughout the day.
Our outside space is full of challenging and interesting activities: a grassy area for ball games, sand pits, balancing equipment, raised beds for growing and a soft play area for our climbing equipment and tennis classes.
We have a fantastic relationship with White Post Farm next door which means we can regularly use their facilities including their indoor play areas, going out on farm walks or meeting the array of different animals they have there. All age groups benefit from this super facility.
Our nursery at White Post, in Farnsfield, is in a rural location, but has super-close, convenient links to the A614. With great car parking facilities for easy drop off and pick up, it provides a perfect location for many busy working families.
The nursery provides a friendly, happy environment supported by warm and caring staff. Many have been at this nursery for several years, and so not only offer continuity for your child, but are also more mature and have extensive childcare experience and qualifications.
We are open from 7.30am to 6pm Monday to Friday
We are OFSTED registered and our latest inspection which rated us as Good is available here.
Additional activities are on offer:
- French with Jacqueline
- Tennis with Maria
- Forest School with Paul at White Post Farm
- Music and Movement with Lauren
- Yoga with Estelle from Mama Baby Bliss

Staff at White Post
Our staff at nursery are dedicated to providing a happy and safe environment for all the children. All our staff are carefully chosen not only for their experience and qualifications but also for their professional knowledge and to show commitment and empathy to children in their care.
Many have been with us for several years and so not only offer continuity for your child, but are also more mature and have extensive childcare experience as well. In each room the required amount of qualified nursery nurses are supplemented by trainee nursery nurses. All staff to child ratios are always met and often exceeded.
Staff, where possible remain constant, operating a ‘Key Worker’ system. This is when each child is allocated to a member of staff to provide a link between the parents and child. They will be largely responsible for settling them into nursery, their day to day care and communicating with the parents about their child’s development. This enables the member of staff to develop close relationships with children in their care.
At Alphabet House we are constantly developing, and this largely includes our staff. Training is very important to us and we offer in-house such as First Aid and Food Hygiene courses and external training, for example specific Baby age group, Language, SEN courses. We support many of our staff to further their knowledge and skills through training and by adding to their qualifications and skill set.
Rachael Hovell - Nursery Manager
Hello, my name is Rachael and I am the Manager of Alphabet House White Post. I am a mum myself to a teenage daughter and stepson. My family are my world and any spare time that I get I spend with them as a family.
I am Level 3 qualified and I have worked in childcare since 2005. I have worked in every position from Nursery Nurse up to the position I hold now. I feel this has given me a wide range of experience and I thrive on learning and challenging myself.
As a parent, I understand the importance of how difficult it is to leave your child in the care of others, therefore I aim to provide a very high standard of care and a happy and healthy place for your child to thrive and have the best start in life.
