Charlie has settled in well to going to two full days. Communication between key worker and home has been excellent. Laura has aided in the transition and always eases him in making him feel comfortable and secure. Tapestry works very well and updates are regular and informative. We are very happy with the care provided here.

We cant say thank you enough for how well you all looked after Eleanor in the 3 years she has been with you. She loves coming to nursery and has learnt loads – you’ve even got her eating more variety! We often get told ‘Nursery says’ and she’s still singing ‘You’ve got a friend in me’ with all the actions. She’ll be back before and after school for more fun. Thank you.

Sarah and Ross Huffen

Thank you for all the amazing activities and learning experiences you have provided for poppy over her time with you. She has thoroughly enjoyed every moment and will take away lots of fabulous memories.

Natalie and Mare Rogers – and Poppy

Thank you so much for looking after Thomas for the last 2 years. He has enjoyed every room he’s been in and has always come home with a smile. He will miss coming to you every week.

Thomas, Susan and Craig

We cannot thank you enough for everything you have done for Violet. She has been here since she was 8 months old and wouldn’t be the bright, confident and bouncy girl she is today without your love and support.

Kirsty, Ian and Violet

The boys have always been very happy at Alphabet House and the staff have always been supportive, professional and a great testament to the nursery.

Claire Maddison and Tom Griffiths

Thank you all for the hard work, help and support given to Francesca. It’s been fantastic to watch her grow and develop over the last 3 years.

A massive thank you. You all go above and beyond and we know both our boys have been given a great start.

I just wanted to let you know what an excellent job you are doing in the pre-school room. I’ve just ‘played letters’ (done a sneaky assessment of Joe’s phase 2 sounds) and the hard work has really stuck. He knows all but 2 (b and u both very easily confused) and some of the remaining singular graphemes in phase 3. I think that is fabulous! What a great position to be in before even starting school. Joe’s new teacher will think she’s won the phonics lottery when she gets him in September! Thank you! You really are an incredible team. Moving Joe to alphabet house was one of our best decisions. And I don’t just mean academically speaking, what touches me most is all the love the team shower Joe with every day. There is always a well-timed distraction when we separate and a readily available hug and such lovely interactions through the day. (I know because I hear him speaking your words, occasionally in your accents, when he plays at home). Please know how much we appreciate you all. To us, each of you are a blessing.

Beeston Alphabet House

Our Beeston nursery, on Chilwell Road, is our longest established site and prides itself on providing a friendly, welcoming environment for children. It is a small nursery situated in the centre of Beeston, with the tram and buses running right outside the door. The nursery provides a friendly, home-from-home environment, supported by thoughtful, caring and mature staff who all have extensive childcare experience.

We cater to three different age groups up to pre-school. We have an outside play area with a wealth of equipment. Due to our location, we make lots of use of the facilities around us with trips to the library, park and shops, and journeys on the bus and trams.

We are thrilled to be able to offer Forest School sessions, using the huge garden next door to nursery. We are open from 7.30am to 6pm Monday to Friday.

Additional activities we offer are:

  • Yoga with Mama Baby Bliss
  • French classes with Jaqueline
  • Music and movement with Lauren
  • Forest Schools with Paul in the orchard

Staff at Beeston

Our staff at nursery are dedicated to providing a happy and safe environment for all the children. All our staff are carefully chosen not only for their experience and qualifications but also for their professional knowledge and to show commitment and empathy to children in their care.

Many have been with us for several years and so not only offer continuity for your child, but are also more mature and have extensive childcare experience as well. In each room the required amount of qualified nursery nurses are supplemented by trainee nursery nurses. All staff to child ratios are always met and often exceeded.

Staff, where possible remain constant, operating a ‘Key Worker’ system. This is when each child is allocated to a member of staff to provide a link between the parents and child. They will be largely responsible for settling them into nursery, their day to day care and communicating with the parents about their child’s development. This enables the member of staff to develop close relationships with children in their care.

At Alphabet House we are constantly developing, and this largely includes our staff.  Training is very important to us and we offer in-house such as First Aid and Food Hygiene courses and external training, for example specific Baby age group, Language, SEN courses. We support many of our staff to further their knowledge and skills through training and by adding to their qualifications and skill set.

Jacqueline Pasco

Hello, my name is Jacqueline and I am the manager at Alphabet House Day Nursery in Beeston.

I am Level 3 qualified and I have worked in childcare since 1998. I have worked in a variety of positions in various sectors from Nursery Nurse up to being a Nursery Manager. I feel this has given me a wide range of experience and I thrive on learning and challenging myself and creating a safe, loving, welcoming, secure environment for children to learn and play in.

I understand the importance of ensuring children have the best start in nursery life, all ready for when they become little adults!
