Outside Play

At nursery the outdoor area is used as much as possible.

All ages of children can enjoy our all weather soft surface for bicycles, trikes, balancing and games. We also have an area for our more challenging climbing equipment.

Throughout the day the outside is also used as part of the curriculum for mathematics, science activities and the nursery garden for growing and planting.

During the year many trips and outings are planned to enable the children to explore the wider world

At the West Bridgford nursery we have a fabulous half acre garden which the children can use all year round. There is a grassed area, logs to climb on, stepping stones, a climbing wall, a large bark area and even a dirt area to make muddy pools and the most fantastic wigwam to play in! There are also regular Forest School workshops for the children.

Lowdham nursery has a brand new all-weather surface with fantastic climbing equipment.

At our Beeston nursery, the staff take full advantage of the all-weather play area by planning an extensive range of activities. These include growing flowers and herbs, storytelling in the tipi, sand and water games with the large drain pipes, as well as music and movement. In the winter the children really enjoy wrapping up, putting on their wellies and either splashing in puddles or building snow men.

Our nursery at White Post has three play areas – one specifically for babies, a larger area with climbing equipment for the older children, and a lovely grassy garden for ball activities.
