Art Week at West Bridgford

What a fabulous week we had celebrating art.

It began with a visit from Helen Nowell, an illustrator who came to do a workshop with the preschool children. They made lots of different animals out of plates and cups. The children had a great time showing off their creative skills.

Then the children made a wooden necklace to take home during our forest school session – and the toddler children made some windsocks using a cup and ribbon.

The following day, our little Artists in Pre-school used tissue paper and water to create their water colour masterpieces. They used their fine motor skills to cut the tissue paper into different shapes before adding it to their pictures.

Later in the week, Judith from Creation station came along and did a messy play session with the Under 2’s and Toddlers. They all got covered in paint but had lots of fun and enjoyed exploring the many objects from the magic box. The children’s creations were turned into caterpillars! Creation Station is a great alternative to a children’s party.

And then we had a visit from artist Zeb who worked with our preschool children. They made some lovely badges to take home and worked along side each other to create an amazing banner covered in lots of different fruits made out of many types of paper, paint and glue!

We would like to thank all our visitors who took the time out to come along and show us their special skills, and to all the staff for their hard work.
